Reading Class
Hello!
In this
occasion, I want to share a little about my own experience. This week the class of Wednesday was
developed by me and my group, Marisol and Kevin, this time we taught a reading
class with vocabulary about zoo animals, adjectives and other words
"usually", "visit" and "I love”. To start the class, I
developed the warm up with a puzzle about animals of the last class to practice
the grammar “they are…” and “it is…”, after that I developed the pre-during 1,
for that stage, I used didactic material as pictures with the vocabulary, children quickly understood the vocabulary.
Then it was the turn of Marisol who developed the during, I really liked when she read the history with students
in a circle because that involve each of the students and that is very good. To
finish the class, it was the turn of Kevin, he knew how to interact and model
the activities so that the children could get the instructions quickly and
easily.
To talk
about the points that I really liked from our class were the activities that
each of us developed because in my opinion were appropriate to kids and to a
reading class .I liked the decoration and dedication that we took to make our
teaching material, comparing it with the first time we developed a class, we
improved that aspect a lot and that made me feel very good.
Talking of
another thing, some points that I did not like was that in some activities the
instructions were not very clear for the students and that was in a little big
confuse. Also the time always makes of theirs, maybe it is because is only one
hour of class and each stage has to develop in an appropriate way and take time.
If I had
the opportunity to change something, it would be a little bit shorter in some
activities to avoid that the time to develop the other activities be little. Also,
another point that I think that is very important and I would like to improve
is to prevent students from distracting easy, we can change tone of voice to catch the attention of the students.
Some recommendations
that we can considers to improve in our class:
1 - Be patience.
2 - Make our classes dynamic and active.
3 - Give short and clear instructions.
4 -Consider that activities are
appropriate for children.
Thank you
for reading.
Hello Karla !
ResponderBorrarI think that in general you did a good job as all humans we make mistakes and it's okay to commit them as this is how we learn I think the activity you did of the puzzle was perfect the children really enjoyed it and I liked that you were controlling the time, for me all the activities were very good to be developed and I agree with you the problem was the instructions for the next time is something that you must take into account , I think something that needs to be improved is the time there were several activities that did not take much time but the instructions were not clear they took more than they should be. I think you have to be more careful with that and I share it with you because it was something that happen to me
good job karla !

ResponderBorrarHello Karla!
ResponderBorrarI think the same as you said that the activities were appropriate because that is how a reading class is taught. Also the decoration we used to catch the students attention was colorful, and it is truly that the dedication we had was awesome because we prepared everything not as the first time we practiced. Also with the time, I think that with kids in the real life; we are going to have more of it, and if this happens we will develop all the lesson with them, but as you said it was an hour, and each stage needs time. In this I think that it is different teaching teenagers or adults because they already know English, and the reading classes are faster than those with children, but you, and Marisol did a great job! You improved a lot I like that!
warm regards Karla!
Hello Karla!
ResponderBorrarTo start I just want to congratulate your group because you all did a really good job as teachers te only think that played against you was the time but there are things that happen and we can not control. I liked your performance as well as your classmates' I think that the materials you used to give the vocabulary were good. I also agree with you the way in which Marisol read the text with the kids was something really creative and it involves all the students. Kevin's performance was good as well, he has a way for giving instructions which show confidence and he has a good control over the class. I also think that you as group have improved a lot in your teaching skills. Thank you for the tips you gave I will take them into account for my next class.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Hello Karla!!
ResponderBorrarTo start let me tell you that I totally agree with you because you have written about very important aspects in your blog about your class, first I want to tell you CONGRATULATIONS for the work that you developed in your second and last class, I also share your opinion that as teachers we should be careful with time since in this way in the end we do not affect our partners. Finally I liked the way that you taught the class, the materials that you used, but remember that we must always show confidence in front of the children in the class. Thank you for your advice and we will try to put them into practice in our future classes.
